Colognola ai Colli, Northern Italy. 10th November 2010.  The inauguration at Colognola ai Colli of the new furnace at Vetrerie Riunite, a world leader in the production of door glass for washing machines.

“This is a very important investment for us, because it increases the daily production capacity from 130 to 180 tonnes explains Luca Matteo Villa, CEO at Vetrerie Riunite.  We focused our attention on the reduction of energy consumption for this project, achieving a saving of 30% compared to the previous furnace thanks to the recovery of thermic energy contained in the combustion fumes.”

Approximately 800 people attended the Open Day, with staff and their families, the local authorities and representatives of various institutions, all of whom had the possibility of having a guided tour of the new plant by top management representatives.  Among the participants where Claudio Carcereri de Prati & Marcello Lovato, respectively the Majors of Colognola ai Colli and Caldiero, the director of ‘Confindustria’ Rita Carisano, Senator Massimo Ferro and Manuel Scalzotto, president of the Province of Verona.

The project for the new furnace was originally given the green light in October 2018.  Work commenced on 22nd July 2019 and concluded on 23rd September 2019, thanks to the support and efforts of our dedicated Team headed by Fabio Mondini (Technical Director of the Group) and Giuseppe Velli (Plant Director)

Over 60 separate companies were involved in the completion this important investment, with a total of 800 workers employed and 850,000 hours worked

The plants belonging to Vetrerie Riunite Group cover a surface area of 140,000 square meters.  The company employs over 600 highly specialized people.  Borromini Srl is part of the Vetrerie Riunite Group established as an additional resource to the Company producing molds for both technical glass and plastic components, as well as Novaref Spa., which produces refractive rollers for the production of ceramic tiles and special components for the building trade.
